Beautiful clean, spacious, well equipped accommodation. Our hostess was very helpful and had already exposed us via WhatsApp to places to eat and the road conditions. The surroundings and gardens are also very beautiful and maintained. Good accommodation quite close to Addo's gate. Will visit again.

From the moment we arrived we could feel the peace. We were pleasantly welcomed by the owner and her lovely K-9 assistants. Enjoyed every minute of our stay in our neo-rustic unit and would highly recommend the activities on offer in the area.
The accommodation in Addo National Park is twice as expensive as Riverfront Estate, and the standard of accommodation is much poorer. River Front Estate is also within walking distance of a good restaurant.

River Front Estate is a beautiful place on the bank of the Sondags River with nice views and friendly service and you don't have to worry about load shedding, there is a generator. The restaurant serves delicious meals.

Beautiful view of the Sundays River. We had a lovely stopover en route to East London. We took advantage of the proximity to Addo Elephant Park to drive through. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed due to Covid but we were able to grab takeaway meals from a place close by. Thanks for the recommendation.
Our intention was to visit the Addo Elephant Park and River Front Estate provided a convenient, clean and pleasant place to overnight in Addo. Lisa and her staff were efficient and very friendly.
River Front Estate was a big surprise. The decor is beautiful! Lovely shower. You struggle to get out once you're in. Nice view of the river. It is spacious and has everything you need.
It was very neat. Friendly service. Lisa is a great hostess who communicates well. After 2 weeks on the road, we had our laundry done. Peace and quiet in nature with a lovely view and a friendly cat.

Lovely place with a very nice view of the river.
Very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean.
We were warmly welcomed and given suggestions of things to do around the area and the various discounts that were currently available. We were then left in private so we could enjoy our weekend. Our room was cleaned every day when we were not home. It was peaceful and quiet which made for a lovely night's rest with the gentle river - and bird sounds in the background. It was the perfect getaway for me and my husband.
This place would have been heavenly if there was air conditioning in the unit, the heat into the night was unbearable. The unit my Mother was in was cooler - the roof structure is different. It is an absolute paradise. The unit was very clean and tidy. The on site restaurant food is absolutely fantastic!
Neat, artistic and unique accommodation. Ideal for after a long day of animal viewing in Addo, a quiet barbecue by the river itself, or a comfortable visit in the family restaurant in the barn.

River Front Estate is located very close to Addo (12 km) from the main entrance and the ideal accommodation option if you are going to visit the park. Lisa is very friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed sleeping over there.
We only had a nights stopover here on our way home but a lovely unit with everything we needed. Absolute must stop for birders, amazing variety!
Luckily the neighbor was quiet, otherwise no privacy. Not even a screen between you and neighbor.
The cottage was lovely and super clean. Lisa made great recommendations regarding restaurants and wildlife safaris nearby. We had a wonderful time close to nature.

Host at estate, the employees and restaurant owners were one of the most friendliest and helpful people I have ever met 100%. Suggestion: The Estate is near a beautiful tranquil river hence, it has enormous potential. A walk-way with railings and lights (wandelpad) that leads to the clear side of the river with a picnic/braai spot will definitely attract more people. Owner should get a professional landscaper and let them design the lay-out from the chalets to the river.
Very convenient near Addo Park.
The unit is very clean and tidy. The entire unit was "disinfected". Because we were there earlier than the appointed time, we had to wait a bit because the "virus fogger" was still drying. However, we didn't mind because we were reassured that the unit was "safe". View beautiful and peaceful.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Beautiful rooms with a breathtaking view. We will definitely want to stay there again. It is at the Addopark and very easy to also visit the park as a day visitor.
A real gem in Addo. 10 mins away from the National Park. Newly renovated with lovely touches. Setting on the Sundays River was lovely for sundowners and quiet braai. Definitely worth a visit if you looking for somewhere to stay in Addo.

The accommodation is managed well, the service is friendly and we recommend it.
Would recommend the place anytime for families with children under 10. Cottage a bit too small for family with teenage children. It was very neat and clean. The absence of braai facilities at the cottages with such a beautiful view of the river was disappointing.
Only thing missing is a TV in the unit.
Sorry the restaurant was closed but was referred to Africanos to watch rugby and for supper. My partner enjoyed the room so much she didn’t want to leave.

Perhaps the only negative is that no washing up facilities for those who wish to self cater. However the staff were happy to do the washing of dishes the next day.

Enjoyed a very nice weekend, the unit is very neat and clean. Three things that did bother me, which I think can be fixed with relatively little effort and expense. Air conditioner will make a very big difference, winter and summer, The kitchen is quite equipped, the two plate stove had to be plugged in with difficulty, for older people it will definitely be a problem. I would have preferred braai facilities but did borrow a weber from owner which made it absolutely worth it. There is a restaurant on the property. The immediate surroundings right in front of the unit riverside could use attention, there was work on nature, but on the surface it didn't look good to us, flowers e.g. was pruned and thrown away right there among other things, maybe I'm complaining about nonsense. What impressed us is the complete information library indicating everything to do in the immediate area. Overall, we really enjoyed it and there's not much to really complain about. The silence of the night and surroundings is what every city dweller definitely needs, and that only an hour from PE.
We were received very kindly and felt very welcome. The view is beautiful and the accommodation is less than 15 minutes' drive from the elephant park. The kitchen is well equipped and we slept well in a large bed with soft bedding. Will definitely return again in the future.

Was received very friendly and professionally. Had a great stay. Three things though, although they didn't bother us much: There is no TV. For the price you pay, especially when you compare it to other similar places, there should be a TV with DStv reception. As self-catering accommodation there should also be a sink in the kitchenette. Now you have to wash your few dishes in the bathroom sink. The bathroom shower door must have a waterproofing strip underneath. When you take a shower now, there is water spilled on the bathroom floor which then needs to be dried up.

River Front Estate could consider installing basic DStv and SABC channels. Not all guests want to go sit at a restaurant and bar to watch TV. Regarding the rooms, consider getting a table for the unit where you can at least sit and eat or drink coffee.

Beautiful view over the Sondag River where you can sit and enjoy a sundowner. The room was very clean with all of the facilities to make the accommodation pleasant and the reception was very friendly.
Very satisfied with our choice. The unit is cleaned and bedding changed daily. They even provided a dray face cloth each day. Our friends wanted to know if this place has 5 star grading, to which I said no, but their service is definitely better than 5 star.

Our room was lovely, but we don't recommend it for self-catering. The kitchenette is just too small. We unfortunately also had no view, so request a view when you're doing your booking — the rooms provide a view over the river and they all have verandas. The location is ideal, just a few minutes drive to Addo National Park and close to the café. Unfortunately it is not suited for people with small children, they constantly need to be watched and the rooms are just to small to keep them entertained. The service was wonderful, our room was cleaned daily and the linen was replaced every second day. The owners are friendly, very helpful and is clearly working hard to upgrade River Front Estate. If you need a convenient stop over place, River Front Estate is ideal.
We had such a pleasant stay at Riverfront Estate. Lisa was so welcoming. She went out of her way to make it as comfortable as possible for us. The rooms are clean and everything one could need is there. It was so nice to have a bath. There are great braai facilities and we could enjoy watching the sun set from the bird hide. I was especially impressed with River Lodge. Enough information on the environment was included in a folder. I would definitely recommend this place to friends when they're in the neighbourhood!
